Bulldogs will host St. Francis Xavier in playoff semi-final

After a slow start and giving up 9 points in the opening quarter the Bulldogs shut out Sturgeon the rest of the way while scoring 14 points in the second half to assure victory.

Led by Owen Tebbutt's 2 interceptions along with an interception by Caleb Holmes the Bulldogs defence dominated the second half.  Offensively the Bulldogs picked it up in the 2nd half with touchdowns coming from Tyler Sims rushing, and Darius Crandell with his league leading 12th receiving TD.

St. Francis Xavier lost their final game of the year to Strathcona to finish in 4th place setting up the semi-final against the Bulldogs on Friday, October 27th at Larry Olexiuk Field, kickoff at 6 pm.

Defense dominates, but Bulldogs Lose.

A beautiful fall evening for Bulldogs Football on 'Senior Night' at Larry Olexiuk Field.  Although the outcome was a 27-2 loss, the Bulldogs find themselves tied in first place with St. Francis and Sturgeon, all at 4-1 records.  Bulldogs are preparing for their next game to get back in the win column.

On this night the offense sputtered for the first time this season although they gained 206 yards Vs. only 110 yards by St. Francis Xavier.  The Bulldogs would gain momentum and then just as quickly it would vanish with a penalty or misplay.

The Defense was solid on the night.  Allowing only 44 yards in passing and only 66 yards rushing by the Rams.  Led by Everett Draudsen's 11 tackle night, Jamie Clark's 9 tackles and Matt LaPierre's 9 tackles, the big 3 linebackers stood tall defensively with 29 tackles between the 3.

Offensively, on the week that Darius Crandell was named Metro Athletics Male Athlete of the week, he added another 8 receptions for 132 yards,  For the first time this season Darius was kept off the scoresheet.

Next up is the Leduc Tigers with kick-off in Beaumont, AB slated for 7:30 PM on Thursday, October 12th.
