With the announcement that Coach Lafferty will be taking a secondment leave to support Ever Active Schools, we are excited to reveal our new head coach for Bulldogs Football, Mr. Zach Wilkie.
Zach will be starting at Bellerose in April, taking over Coach Lafferty's teaching assignment and coaching duties. He has a long history of involvement in football: A player with the Edmonton Huskies and the University of Alberta Golden Bears, an assistant coach for the Bellerose Bulldogs and Sturgeon Composite Spirits, and head coach for SAMFA's St. Albert Storm in the CDMFA Midget spring league. Zach is also a certified strength and conditioning coach, and it will be a great asset to our school's Physical Education and Athletic programs.
Welcome to Bellerose Coach Wilkie.
With mixed emotions we share the news that Jason Lafferty has accepted a secondment with Ever Active Schools, a charity organization focused on supporting health and wellness education initiatives in Alberta schools. This is an incredible opportunity for Jason to share his gifts and talents with various surrounding and northern communities.
Jason leaves Bulldogs Football with a great legacy to build upon. Reigning Miles Division II and Junior Division I Champions as well as the 2023 Football Alberta Tier II High School 'Coach of the Year' award.
We know that Jason will excel in this newly created position and we wish him all the best from Bulldogs Football.
Coach Bucky's family has announced that there will be a Celebration of Life held at the St. Albert Inn on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1 to 4 pm.
It is with deepest regrets and sympathy for the Dryer Family that we announce the passing of one of our long time and beloved Coaches, Brian 'Buck' Dryer. Buck has coached with Bulldogs Football and St. Albert Minor Football for a very long time. His 4 sons, Craig, Brady, Todd, Andy and his wife Cheryl were all valuable members of Bulldogs Football and they helped shape it into what it is today. Bulldogs Football are re-naming the Junior Varsity trophy " Outstanding Sportsmanship & Dedication" to the Brian 'Buck' Dryer Memorial Trophy, so that his legacy will live on.
R.I.P. Coach Buck, you have left a mark on our heart and soul, you will be missed.
