A preview of metro Edmonton football playoff between the Bellerose Bulldogs and Spruce Grove Panthers kicks off Friday at Fuhr Sports Park.

Game time is 6 p.m. between the 3-3 fourth-place teams in the division one Carr conference.

The opening playoff round between the teams finishing fourth and fifth is Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Foote Field.

Bellerose, listed 10th in week seven of the Football Alberta Tier I (1,250-plus students) rankings, ended a two-game winless stretch in Friday’s 41-6 victory against the Jasper Place Rebels (0-6) in St. Albert.

Mohammad Zeidan booted field goals of 31 and 35 yards.

Gage Froese rushed for 145 yards on 18 carries and quarterback Tristan Olenick completed eight of 16 passes for three touchdowns and one interception and ran two yards for another TD.

On the receiving end of TD passes from Olenick in the second quarter were Caleb Akerley with a pair and Jordan Howe as Bellerose ended the first half ahead 31-6.

Jakob Kikkert and Owen Fradette led the defence with five tackles apiece.

Jayden Randall picked off two passes and Evan Kumka had one interception.

Randall also tossed a 28-yard TD pass to Adam Rafat.
