The metro Edmonton division one junior football semifinal between the Bellerose Bulldogs and Bev Facey Falcons kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Clarke Park and admission is $5.
The Bulldogs are 5-0 as the top team in pool B.
Facey, a pool A team, is 4-2 after winning last week’s opening playoff tilt 12-7 against the Paul Kane Blues (3-3).
In preseason play the Bulldogs defeated Facey three touchdowns to two Sept. 9 in Sherwood Park.
The winner plays the St. Joseph Saints (5-1) or the Jasper Place Rebels (5-0) in the Nov. 6 final at 5 p.m. at Clarke Park.
The Bulldogs are in the hunt to become the first junior team to win three championships in a row since the 2004 to ’06 St. Albert Hawks, when Paul Kane High School was a feeder program for the St. Albert Catholic High School football team. The Bulldogs’ roster includes players from Sturgeon Composite High School.
The Bulldogs are 21-0 in league and playoff games combined since losing the 2011 premier semifinal to Facey.
